A random post of things I'll forget if I don't write them down somewhere. And since anything I seem to write down at home magically disappears, I'll write it on the Internet where it's sure to be safe.
**It is now 2 weeks until my due date. Carter was born 2 weeks early. Thus, we could expect the new baby any day. Although the doctor says I'm not progressing "at all" so I'm still not packed for the hospital. Nor do we have a crib up. Or clothes ready. Or really anything ready for that matter. First on the list, figure out a name. We've got nothing. And I'm not just saying that. We really have NO names in mind. Mike just wants to call him "Ross". Not Ross Ross. Just Ross. One name. Vetoed.
**I have carpal tunnel in both hands and it hurts. Bad. Throbs. Hands fall asleep. Never comfortable. My hair always looks awesome for the first half of the day because my hands hurt so bad in the morning I can't get a pony tail out or in. So I leave it.
**Carter is now going on day SEVENTEEN of an ear infection. We went through 2 rounds of different antibiotics and started on the third which I quickly realized we'd still be giving him after the baby was born so I asked for an antibiotic shot. I don't need a sick 2 year old when we bring a newborn home. He has to go back to the doctor Monday to make sure it's gone. He's not sleeping much. Neither am I. Bring on the newborn.
**Mike turned 35 this week. He said he now feels old. I tried to convince him he's in his prime. He's not buying it.
**People always say kids go through the "terrible twos". At our house, we have found it is the terrible FIVES. Which means Mya has now entered a "phase". One in which she cries for long periods of time (sometimes as long as 45 minutes). Sometimes we have no idea what she's even crying about. And I don't think she does either. I actually call it a "wail". It's maddening.
**Jaida has thankfully entered the blissful sevens and has been pretty mellow and very easy to deal with. Very grateful for that. She's going to be a big help when the baby gets here. I'm going to need it.

10 hours!
Carter slept through the night for the first time since he was born this week. TEN whole hours. I checked to make sure he was still alive 3 different times. And then got up to pee at least 7 more times. So I didn't sleep ten hours, but HE did. It's a Christmas miracle. It only happened one night, but we'll take what we can get.
