I made Jaida try one lick. That's all she gave me. She thought it was gross with the food-coloring in it. FYI--food-coloring does NOT change the flavor of food.
Wiping off the spoon instead of licking it. Seriously.
Then she mixed up all the colors in one bowl, put aluminum foil on it, and wanted to pass it out to the neighbors--that's where I had to draw the line.
The finished piece of work. It took 2 days to dry and is now proudly displayed in the kitchen.
And the paper towel where she wiped the remains. Such a waste.
The second activity. painting. with water. Fill buckets with water, give 'em some paint brushes and let them go. GREAT idea. That is until you let them get out the bubble machine at the same time and they start mixing the bubble water with the regular water and then painting with that. Mess, mess, mess. Otherwise, it's clean and harmless. And they found it quite entertaining.

Hey Linds - It's mieka. Those are great ideas. I read about a couple that wrote a few books with ideas like these. It's called Kid Concoctions. You can find them on Amazon. I want to get them but don't need them quite yet.
We are going to try the pudding one in the next few days.
One idea, if the girls like cars, is get boxes, (cracker boxes, cereal boxes, anything like that) and let the girls paint them. Cut out doors, and then go outside and draw a road on your driveway with sidewalk chalk and they can zoom the cars along the road and the boxes can be places like, school, library, home, etc.
Glad the girls liked the painting. My mom does the pudding painting with my kids, too. She just uses chocolate pudding, and they lick it up.
My favorite thing is to hand them the hose, full-blast, and watch the action. They like to stick it on the slide and fly down. They also like to make a big mud hole in the backyard and create a muddy town. Fun stuff.
