While at the cabin, we thought it would be fun to go to Palisades lake. In the middle of October. In Idaho. Because there's never really a bad time to go boating, right? Besides getting the boat and the car stuck in the mud on the boat ramp (and having to tow them out with our car which thankfully was supplied with my "emergency preparedness" tow rope), then finding a different boat ramp that was closed and launching anyway, it was a very successful trip. Mike and Jeff were crazy enough to get in and surf. Jaimi and I were crazy enough to stay on a boat with 6 little kids and try to keep them entertained while wearing life jackets that make it hard to move and all around be happy. There aren't a lot of families I'd be okay stuck on a boat in the middle of a freezing lake with. We had a lot of fun. Lot of fun. Our kids were made to be boaters.
